When Zahn Development was asked to expand this modest 1952 home for its new owners, we did it with a strong design ethos that elevated the fundamentals of good mid century modern design. Continuing the lineage of connecting the indoors with the outdoors and the need for light, harmony and eco-efficiency with advanced LEED certified techniques, Zahn Development re-built this 1,700 square-foot, 2-bedroom, 2 ½ bath structure to an airy yet cozy 2,483 square foot residence with 3 bedrooms, an expanded master bedroom and living room with plenty of style. What began as an idea for a renovation turned into construction of an entirely new home.

The kitchen, wrapped in a Calacatta gold marble backsplash features floating white lacquered cabinets. Brazilian wood was used for the lower cabinetry to contrast the marble and the thick white Caesarstone quartz countertops. With its rich chocolate brown color and maximum durability, this sustainable hardwood was also used to create an outdoor shower for a spa-like rinse after a splash in the upgraded pool. Overall, the richness of the materials combined with the efficiency of the home come together for a supremely pleasant, organic design that holds true to the easy Florida lifestyle.
